On 22 July 2023, more than 80 youth mentors and mentees of MENDAKI Club (MClub)'s flagship PEER community programme assisted in food packing and preparation for the beneficiaries of Willing Hearts! Willing Hearts is a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 7,000 daily meals to over 70 locations island wide, 365 days a year.
This initiative is part of the broader effort led by MClub to expose Malay / Muslim youths to a variety of meaningful causes where they can contribute and serve as catalysts for change in the society. The youth mentors and mentees were able to better understand the role of soup kitchens and other food programs and the importance of community support in addressing this issue. The respective squads were also able to hone their teamwork skills by working effectively with other mentors and mentees in the kitchen operations.
