MClub hosted a Ministerial Forum on "The Future We Hold: Perspectives on the Economic Recession" on 18 April 09 at SMU, which saw some penetrating discussion on the current economic climate as well as a range of other medium- and long-term issues. More than 80 young professionals, students and MMO leaders engaged Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam on the global recession, opportunities in the long term and how Singaporeans can face an uncertain future. Participants were treated to an up-close audience with Mr Tharman, whose analysis and overall optimism about the future inspired many over the 2-hour session.
