Young Minds Club : Fundamentals in relevant study techniques (FIRST) Briefing
Date/Time
Date(s) - 4 Aug 2012
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Location
Wisma Mendaki
MENDAKI Club will be launching ‘Fundamentals In Relevant Study Techniques (FIRST)’ for Secondary 2 & 3 members of the Young Minds’ Club (YMC).
YMC FIRST is a study skills programme (not a tuition programme) that will run weekly from August to end September 2012. The programme is designed to help students that are getting B-C average grades improve their academic performance with the goal of scoring distinctions in future exams and eventually ‘O’ and/or ‘A’ Levels.
There is a gap in the academic assistance net for these students because they are not doing poorly in school and hence do not qualify for MENDAKI Tuition Scheme meant for students that are failing. And they are also not getting As because their families may not be able to afford tuition to give them that little boost to push their grades up.
We welcome pre-university and polytechnic students, and university undergraduates for the pioneer batch of Academic Mentors for the pilot run of YMC FIRST this year, and subsequently rolling out the programme a larger pool of Academic mentors next year.
To register for the session please do email to wardha@mendaki.org.sg.
