INVITATION TO MENDAKI POLICY FORUM 02/12 – National Day Rally 2012: “The Dilemma of Singapore’s Economic & Demographic Challenges: Implications to Malay/Muslim Community in Ensuring a Quality Living Environment”
1 We are pleased to invite you to Yayasan MENDAKI’s second Policy Forum for 2012 (collaboration between MENDAKI’s Research and Policy Department and MENDAKI Club).
2 Since 2002, the MENDAKI Policy Forum has been an effective platform for the organisation to engage participation from community leaders and members of the community in valuable discussions on pertinent issues concerning the Malay/Muslim community.
3 The coming forum will focus on key national concerns on both the tangible and intangible aspirations towards a better quality of life. Thus, explaining how these aspirations affect the definitive roles among family members, in terms of being a parent, a care-giver and as a child. The forum will also examine and discuss future opportunities and challenges facing the Malay/Muslim community based on their present demographic profiles.
4 The key speakers at the forum will include: Dr. Mathew Mathews (Institute of Policy Studies, NUS), Mr. Yeoh Lam Keong (Institute of Policy Studies, NUS), Mr. Zainudin Nordin (MP Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC) and Dr. Irene Ng Yue Hoong, (Social Work Department, NUS) as the discussant.
